Biographie

Biographie

Within Temptation fut fondé en 1996 par Robert Westerholt et sa compagne Sharon Den Adel (ex-membres de "The Circle").
A leurs débuts, le groupe d'origine Hollandaise, se compose de la magnifique Sharon et de Robert (chant), de Jeroen Van Veen (basse), de Michiel Papenhove] (guitare), de Martjin Westerholt (frère de Robert, au clavier) et enfin de Richard Willemse (batterie).
Puis peu de temps après la création de Within Temptation, Richard Willemse quitte le groupe. Fin 1996, la formation enregistre une démo "Enter" et trouve par la même occasion un nouveau batteur : Denis Leeflang. Après de nombreuses tensions avec Denis, les autres membres décident de le remplacer par Ivaar De Graaf.
Le groupe prend alors de l'importance et après les propositions de plusieurs labels, Within Temptation signe avec Dsfa Records.
En 1998, le groupe publie son premier véritable opus, nommé "The Dance".
En 2001 sort "Mother Earth", leur second album.
Il faudra attendre 2003 pour voir arriver cet album dans toute l'Europe.
C'est véritablement en 2004 que le groupe "explose" en devenant un groupe majeur de la scène rock métal-symphonique mondiale aux côtés de Lacuna Coil ou Nightwish. Within Temptation mené par la belle Sharon, est enfin reconnu en France.
Arrangements symphoniques épiques, voix d'ange et guitares précises, la recette Within Temptation explose au grand jour.
Bien qu'assagis, ils signent un 3ème album "The Silent Force", majestueux, qui à déjà totalement conquis les amateurs du genre.
Il est à noter que l'album "The Silent Force" a été disque d'or en Hollande, Belgique et Allemagne et cela seulement après trois semaines dans les bacs.
Le groupe a sortie un nouvel album intitulé "The Heart Of Everything" le 12 mars 2007.
Ce nouvel album montre l'évolution du groupe, comme à chaque album (il suffit de comparer "Enter" avec "The Heart Of Everything"). Ce nouvel album est contrairement aux précédents albums en vente aux Etats-Unis.

Après plusieurs départ et tensions voici enfin les membres du groupe actuels :
